Things worth knowing
- 01Each post in the X timeline has a limited height, so spikes that overflow are hidden behind the neighbouring posts — that clipped look is exactly where the effect comes from. Open the post detail view to see more of it.
- 02Every combining mark counts as its own character. The count here follows the way X weighs text: CJK characters weigh 2, Latin letters and combining marks weigh 1, and the limit is 280.
- 03The preview above deliberately uses the same system font stack X falls back to when its own font does not cover a character, so CJK text should look nearly identical. For Latin letters X reaches for its proprietary Chirp font first, which is not available here, so placement can shift slightly. Fonts also differ between systems and clients — check before you post.
- 04Screen readers read every mark out loud, one at a time. Keep it to a decorative touch and out of body text.
